Why Ai? (Only for those who choose to look beyond the cycle of traditional boundary) "Appliance Innovation" abbreviated "Ai", pronounced "I" in English and in Chinese '愛' with a heart built on the foundation of the letter "M" which stands for "Manufacturing or Make". In 1994, I started 2 companies, "Appliance Innovation Pte Ltd" and "Appliance Manufacturer". A few years later, while deciding what website name to use, "ai" and "aipl" were quickly taken up by URL brokers the moment they knew you are interested in the URL, so I chose "ai-m" quietly with a taboo in my religious concern as "I am" is a "reserved word" for the "I am who I am". So in revere, I asked for permission from the one who called himself "I am who I am". Within 7 days, a new home user customer contacted me and wanted to come to my house to meet with me to discuss further business. In our discussion, I told him the main aim of all our product design was to show people as a brand name: "This is The Way" things should be done and not in the other way which does not serve any beneficial purpose for the user ultimately. Instead, he told me he got a dream, a night before, seeing me very happy walking towards a banner written, "I Am The Way". This is where "www.ai-m.net" started with the Logo carrying a heart with the word, "Ai M THE WAY" which was finally digitised by another customer who came to me a few years later to start a business from our support to him beyond business norm. To date, we have 3 official websites - www.ai-m.net - www.ai-ledlight.com - www.ai-control.com Why "ai" or abbreviated with "ai-" as an identity? Ai is not just our identity but is unique not because we want it but because we were made that way as we continue to grow since 1988 in season beyond our plan. As you walk with us, you will find many things that we are unique as many of our customers had found and expressed beyond their common belief and some with admiration of the way we can do it. Basically, we are founded thus guided by a culture beyond the traditional boundary and ahead of time. (Eg. in 1979, 20 years well before the Government started talking about R&D and getting people to think out of the box etc.) 3 days ago, I chanced upon a new version of a popular song in the 60's which you may have heard before but is very unique in the way you may not have traditionally thought of, may somewhat or best illustrate who we are and how we do things and to what extend we go to help customers to achieve their goals beyond normal business means. We always stand by you not as customer but as friend for a long long time in helping you to achieve life goals and breakthroughs in the way they should be. We do not treat customer as king but we treat customer as close friend with your best interest in mind. The threshold to make it happen is your choice when you understand this culture.
